The Richmonds
June 25, 2006I said I’d have a new storyline to tell you about, and I’ve also made my first family to go with it!
However, I’ll start with a little info about the neighbourhood first.
It’s called Violet River and isn’t based on anywhere particular. The actual neighbourhood plan I used was Sedona (I think) and it’s supposed to be set in about 1895. A lot of the characters are British and many have come to restart their lives, forget about their pasts, or to fall in love. As regards to the whole ‘love’ thing, I’m generally wa-a-a-ay to embarrassed to go into any detail whatsoever. Once or twice though, I might just have to - so please BE WARNED, you might read a whole lot of cheesey stuff.
As a Brit myself, I’m also really patriotic and anybody who isn’t British may have trouble understanding some of my slang language. If you do, tell me and I’ll quite happily translate. And I’ll try not to go on too much about the History of Britain; it drives everyone I know up the wall.
Soooo…onto the First Family!
Please Meet The Richmonds!

Victoria Richmond moved to Violet River after the death of her husband, Alfred Albert Richmond, in mysterious circumstances. Selling her four houses in London, Portsmouth, Truro and Kings Lynn provided her with enough money for a new mansion on the tropical Georgian Isle. Since Violet River was the most respectable village to have sprung up on the Isle, as well as the only one with any good building resources, she chose a good home. It was called Country Gothic and the kind people at Mt Geneva left it well-equipped and perfect for starting her life. Bringing with her her daughter Alice immediately, followed a little later by her son Alfred Morgan (he had to complete his last term at Harrow), she is now trying to position herself at the front of society. She is also looking for a new husband.
Not long after her life resumed itself and she began to get used to Violet River, Victoria heard of Votes For Women (in its early stages, of course). She also heard of the Parish Council at the local Church, St Marmaduke’s. Deciding to help the Votes for Women cause, Victoria also realised that she would get more of an audience if she joined the Parish Council. To promote herself at the first Council Members Election, she had herself and her children pose for the local Photographer.

Mrs Victoria Richmond.

Miss Alice Richmond.

Master Morgan Richmond.
To cap it all, and escape her ex-husband’s influence, she changed her son’s name from Alfred to his middle name of Morgan. And so their new life finally began.
