Just A Little Help Needed…
September 3, 2006Now Shana was good enough to offer me some sound advice about creating page numbers within a post, and for that I am very grateful.
However, being somebody who lacks any technical flair at all and finds just plugging in a battery-charger very challenging, the code she kindly gave me does not appear to be working: aka, probably my fault but then it usually is. I have tried many variations on that code but - typically - none of them work. Doh!

The whole thing is delaying the Prologue, and nothing seems to be working. However, all though it did not work on my test site, it MAY work here. So excuse me whilst I try it…
<!–nextpage–>
Hmmm…if it hasn’t worked, you can see my problem. If it has…well, I AM like some kind of idiot with computers and you can just ignore this whole thing.
Thanks for your co-operation.
EDIT: Hm, well Jen has given me a link to the Blogsome Forum, and I will now test the data within this post.
Okay, there was once a…fat’n'friendly chicken nugget called…err…Chuckles.
Because he was so kind, crispy, and generally yummy, everybody loved him. One day he went for a walk along the kitchen counter. Who knew what adventures lay in store for the brave and daring Chuckles?
{link_pages next_or_number=’number’}
Well…the answer to that was nothing other than being gobbled down by some filthy greedy toddler with smotherings of ketchup (or catsup? hmm…) and lashings of vinegar.
Poor Chuckles! Well, I hope it’s worked?
EDIT 2: Okay, I’m going to follow Mandy’s Advice now. (Please bear with me in this constant testing!)

Hmm…

Nope, the code messed up and I’m still mightily confused.
(BTW, I used the two dashes in the code as Shana suggested, so I have NO idea what’s going on.)
Please help?

Hm, you might need to add some code to your index.php or whatever you have for Blogsome (I’ve never used Blogsome myself, so I’m not sure how it’s set up). I did find this, though - maybe it’ll help?

Hmmm…now I am DEFINATELY doing SOMETHING wrong.
But what? What?
Thank you anyway Jen. It was most kind of you to help.

Okay, the problem with your next page code is that you need to add another “-” to both sides of next page. So it would look like this:
As for the other thing, I have no clue! Hope this helps a little bit at least!

Ok, so it disappeared when I just tried to put in my previous comment…So here it is with an extra space added in:
Just omit the space between the first “

Hmmm, stupid question here, but do you have the little check box marked that allows html content in your post? If you do (or if there is no box) then I am truly stumped as to why it’s not working! I’ll do some research and get back to ya if I find anything!

You could always switch to Wordpress. It’s free and pretty straight forward to use. I switched from Wordpress from Blogsome.
Just go here and sign up: http://wordpress.com/
